What is most ironic is that those who are subverting scripture are those who are in leadership and educated in the word and workings of the Faith. It doesn't matter what one knows; it's how one uses what one knows. Education in the truth only makes one an expert at subverting the truth. Jesus said, " ...upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)" and the only tools used to build his church is the truth of the Scriptures (John 8:32, John 17:17-26, 2 Timothy 3:15-17). Yet today, we have these educated pansy leaders who only preach feel-good messages, permissive messages, self-indulgent, overt and covert self-centeredness messages; messages that are void of any reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness; the kind of messages which is essential for the perfection of imperfect people, leaders who misuse the inspiration of God for self-gain and ambition. But these leaders make those who follow them comfortable in their imperfections because they leave out the essentials that make a message inspired by God. Those essentials are the ability to reproof, correct, and instruct in righteousness, not for false feel-good, permissive, self-indulgent, self-centeredness messages that lead to us being happy and comfortable and stagnancy of our imperfection and like the unpleasant smell of stagnant water the Church is no longer a sweet fragrance of Christ; and so often the Church glory in not being. Like stagnant water becomes a breeding place for parasites, the Church has become the perfect breeding ground and grooming place for leaders who are parasites, leaders who use their education to subvert the truth, destabilizing the Church. Only leaders have that kind of power; no lay member does.
